Sony Selling NEX-7 on eBay at MSRP

NEX-7 on eBay, MSRP and Free Shipping



Sony USA's official eBay store is listing the NEX-7 body only at $1199.99 (MSRP) and free shipping. You will be charged tax but it seems to list it as 5% for all states. It states that there are more than 10 available. The estimated delivery after March 6th. This is only for the US market.

    Weird: it’s already gone, but it looks like only 1 was sold (though you can see it still says over 10 were available). If there were several sold, though, I wonder how many were snatched up by eBay sellers so they can turn around and price gouge some more.

    There were several vendors in Kong Kong showing the 55-210 zoom available last week, but when I tried to buy one, they "checked the stock" and actually had none. As far as I know, Sony are still not shipping and aren't saying when they will be.

Use Medium Format Lenses with Sony A7 Cameras

Sony A7 ii with a Mamiya 645 80mm f/1.9 lens via Kipon Baveyes Focal Reducer. Here is a review of the Kipon Baveyes medium format lens focal reducer adapter for Sony A7 cameras.  This adapter has a lens element that concentrates the medium format image circle down to the size of a 24x36mm sensor of the Sony A7 cameras with a 0.7x factor.  The 80mm lens above has an equivalent focal length of 56mm.  The concentrated light also gives us one stop of extra light.  The f/1.9 is an equivalent f/1.36, a very fast medium format lens.
